The Uganda Premier League hit its twelfth week on Tuesday with a total of five matches taking place across different grounds in the country.

Vipers Sports Club consolidated their lead on the log with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over visiting Wakiso giants at the St. Marys Stadium in Kitende.

Fahad Bayo scored the all-important goal as the former champions hit 30 points from 12 matches. That’s what Edward Golola and Venoms fraternity wanted in a bid to stretch their lead away from favourites KCCA who have played seven matches in this season due to continental engagements.

Kyetume were the biggest beneficiaries of the day with two goals against Busoga United at Bombo Military Stadium. Noel Nasasira and Jonathan Dante were on the mark giving coach Nsimbe all the points at home.

Police FC failed to climb the ladder after falling to URA FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, in a high stakes match where all teams had almost equal chances of bagging all the points. Joackiam Ojera handed the taxmen the victory in the 15th minute, condemning the law enforcers to another loss after they went through three matches without a win.

BUL FC would have reduced their gap with Vipers had they won against Onduparaka in Arua but they wasted a superb chance when Musa Esenu failed to slot in the ball when he was left with the goalkeeper to beat. They drew 0-0 with the vegetable oil manufacturers remaining second on the standings.

Express FC registered their second draw in twelve matches with their winless streak continuing. They were for a 2-1 win against Maroons but their defence allowed Steven Mukwali to score an equalizer to ensure the visitors earned a point.

With these results, Police FC are still rooted in the relegation zone alongside Proline as Vipers, BUL, Onduparaka, SC Villa and Maroons command top five slots in that order.
