Al Ahly veteran Walid Soliman has warned Esperance de Tunis not to expect an easy game in Tunis in their first leg of 2020/2021 CAF Champions League semi-final on Saturday night.
The defending African Champions League holders will be visiting Esperance at the Hammadi Al-Aqrabi Olympic Stadium in the Tunisian capital, Tunis.
Soliman insists the players aware of the importance of the match and he was confident Esperance will be beaten in a match that is expected to produce sparks.
“This game is one of the CAF Champions League’s classics. We know the importance of this game and we are keen to achieve a good result on Saturday,” said Soliman after Thursday’s morning training session.
“We are fully focused on our game against Tunisia’s Esperance. It is a very important match and I hope that we achieve a good result in the first leg to ease our mission in Cairo.
“Esperance have a lot of experienced players and these types of matches are not predictable.”
“I am happy with the great support of Al Ahly fans and I hope that we will be able to win our tenth African title to please them.”
Al Ahly arrived in Tunisia last Tuesday, headed by club President Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
The Red Eagles booked their place in the CAF Champions League semifinals after beating Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 3-1 on aggregate.
For Esperance of Tunisia they made it to the semis after beating Chabab Belouizdad of Algeria 3-2 after penalty kicks.
