Kenyan Premier League side Wazito FC have continued with their January shopping spree by adding Liberian international, Augustine Otu, to their ranks.
The former Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC) striker has put pen on paper on a deal and will be playing for them for the rest of the season.
It is believed the Liberian has penned a six-month deal with Wazito, with an option for a further two years if things go well.
“Otu is a good striker. He is a young and hungry forward who we believe will improve our attack by getting us goals. He will bring good competition to our attack which is healthy for the team,” Wazito coach Stewart Hall told the club website.
Otu has only one senior appearance to his name so far for Liberia according to Wikipedia, and will be hoping to add to that in Nairobi now that his move has been finalised.
“I am delighted to be joining such an ambitious team like Wazito. I am looking forward to making my debut, I want to play my part in helping the team by scoring goals, I can’t wait to get started,” Out said after signing the deal.
Wazito are currently 14th in the Kenyan Premier League after picking just two wins in 17 matches that they have played this season, and Hall will be hoping that their new signings can help them continue to climb up the table.
Amongst other marque arrivals include Dennis Ng’ang’a, Dennis Sikhayi, Kennedy Owino, Issafou Bourhana, Whyvonne Isuza, Alvin Ochieng, and Ronald Ashimoto.
