Zambia national team stand in coach Beston Chambeshi has affirmed that the team is not going to COSAFA castle cup to add numbers but to compete for the trophy they last won in 2013 when they hosted it.
Chambeshi revealed that he was working on picking a team that will go to the tournament and do well.

He said.
“Yes we have the mixture of old and new players in the team but I think our strength will come in when we see players which are ready to compete, Which players can go their and do well at the tournament so that’s the area we are looking at,” He added.
The Zambia U23 national team boss emphasised on the need to keep players who were part of last year’s history making U20 national team close by for continuity and future tournaments.
” There are U23 who are here so that we can work on them. Like I said earlier there is no way you can throw away players like Mangani,Muchindu, Sakulanda and the others, No, Those players have played at the high level so we want them to be close to us so that when U23 qualifiers comes in they will be ready, ” He said.
