Wolatya Ditcha and Fasil Kenema settled for a goalless draw in the Ethiopia Premier League (EPL) top of the table clash played on Saturday.
The Bees of Tona came into the match in high spirits following their 4-2 away win against Sebeta City last Thursday.
Having registered a 1-1 draw against promoted side Arbaminch City, Fasil who are the defending champions were aiming against a side that had a two-point on the table.
However, neither of the two teams could get a goal after 90 minutes despite the numerous chances created.
Ditcha looked the more composed and constructive outfit throughout the game but their strikers led by Minyilu Wondimu, Sintayenu Mengitsu, Kalkidan Zelanem fired blanks failing to muster the class to breach a robust Fasil backline that defended with vigour.
A neat build up from the 18yard area then put Habtamu Niigussie through but the midfielder was thwarted by the Emperors shot-stopper Mickel Samake while the well positioned Mengisti failed to follow up the rebound.
In the 79th minute Wondimu could have scored for his side but he wasted the glorious chance when he opted for trickery rather than a shot allowing defender Anagaw Badeg to block his mistimed attempt.
Elsewhere, Wolkite City will consider it as two crucial points dropped in their quest to break in top three on the table while for Arbaminch Ketema, the point gained keeps their hope of a good finish.
City slightly increased their tally to eight points and are now five points behind table leaders Welatya Dicha.
Abranamich, who are famously know as the Crocodiles, also move up 8 points thanks to the draw, and maintained fifth position on the league table.
