“Words Can Not Explain What I’m Feeling,” Says DRC’s Bolasie After Sporting Transfer

Yannick Bolasie is short of words after switching clubs which saw him leave English Premier League outfit, Everton.

Yannick Bolasie is short of words after switching clubs which saw him leave English Premier League outfit, Everton.

The 30-year-old ended his nightmare at Everton having fallen down the pecking order of Marco Silva at the Toffees.

Signed in 2015 from Crystal Palace, the winger turned an outcast at the Merseyside leading to his departure to Anderlecht where his returns were no more than six goals in eighteen outings.

The acquisition of Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi meant the door was shut on his chances of a fortune turnaround in Everton’s first team and hence his sidelining in the peripheries.

However, today, the DR Congo’s playmaker’s wait for playing minutes came to an end after he switched to Cristiano Ronaldo’s erstwhile employers.

He was all delight upon his unveiling but with a cheeky parting statement for Everton’s Marco.

“Rah man are out here playing with my career like LEGO. I never imagined coming to Sporting CP. I know the story and I know it’s a great club.”

“I have seen the José Alvalade Stadium on television, but it is better live. I will do my best to honour this jersey. I have a sense of the credibility that comes with it and I have a sense of pressure, what fans expect from the Sporting team,” he says.

He continued: “Words do not explain what I am feeling. It has been a long day and I am happy to sign for Sporting. I want to thank all the people who helped me. I am very happy to be here and wear this shirt. I can’t wait to express myself and work for the team. I can’t wait to meet my team-mates and coaches. What I can promise is that I will do everything I can to honour the jersey. And that is done in every game, whatever the competition. I can’t wait to get on the pitch.”

The 30-year-old remains in line to make his debut up against Boavista on 15th September 2019.
