Ivory Coast international Cheick Comara is reportedly on the radar of United Arab Emirates side Fujariah FC.
The 26-year-old defender is currently in the books of Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca.
Comara has made 43 appearances and scored three goals since joining the record Botola champions three seasons ago from Finnish outfit Ekenas IF.
The defender has been the subject of massive transfer speculation in recent months, with his contract at Wydad currently in its final month.
His performance attracted the interested of Finnish top tier side Helsingfors but after president Said Naciri rejected the offer, Fujariah have emerged as favourites to land the player.
Ducor Sports understands that the UAE Pro League giants have already made contact with the powerful defender, however, a transfer fee has yet to be agreed between the two clubs.
“Helsingfors came with a good offer last season but the president rejected it as he wants Comara to play for him in the Champions League,” says a source close to Wydad camp.
Comara has also been linked with numerous local sides including FUS Rabat, RS Berkane and Raja Casablanca, and now a move to Asia also can’t be ruled out.
Fujariah are said to be ready to offer Comara a double salary, but sources in the United Arab Emirates say the club are reluctant to meet Wydad’s asking price of $2.5 million.
