Yanga Land Tough Confederation Cup Group

Young Africans Sports Club have discovered their group stages opponents as they are set to challenge for their maiden continental crown.

The Tanzanian Premier League champions will face TP Mazembe, US Monstair and AS Real Bamako  in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup following Tuesday’s draw in Cairo.

After eliminating Tunisia side Club Africain in the previous round, the Citizens will now target for a spot beyond the quarter-finals, a stage they last reached in 1995.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s troops eased past the Tunisians via 1-0 aggregate score line, thus reaching the groups stages of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time since 2018.

However, Nabi is aware that the real test awaits them in the group stages where they were in Pot 2 with  Diable Noirs, Future FC, Rivers United, DC Motema Pembe and ASFAR of Morocco.

In the draw, the Citizens will face off TP Mazembe, US Monstair and AS Real Bamako of Mali in Group D of the competition.

In a addition, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to announce the matches and the venues in the due course.

However, the Match Day 1 will be played on 12th February 2013 while the Matchday  will take place on 2 April 2023.

Group A: USMA (Algeria), Marumo Gallants (South Africa), Al Akhder (Libya), St Eloi Lupopo (DR Congo)

Group B: ASEC Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), Diables Noirs (Congo), Rivers United (Nigeria), DC Motema Pembe (DR Congo)

Group C: Pyramids FC (Egypt), ASKO de kara (Togo), Future FC (Egypt), ASFAR (Morocco)

Group D: TP Mazembe (DR Congo), US Monastir (Tunisia), Young Africans (Tanzania), AS Real Bamako (Mali)
