Yanga Renews Sponsorship Deal With SportPesa

Tanzania Mainland Premier League side Young Africans Sports Club (Yanga) have signed a renewed and improved three year deal with shirt sponsors SportPesa.

The new deal will see the club get USD 5.25million during the three year period which can be renewed if both parties are satisfied.

In the new deal, reports suggests that all major club expenses and salaries, including that of the coach and the rest of the technical bench, will be catered for by SporPesa. Initially the technical bench was paid by GSM.

“We have looked back at the strides we have covered since we entered into the partnership and while there were times we had issues, we consider them as the common teething problems in any deal,” as source at SportPesa told Ducor Sports.

“It was the first time Yanga was entering in such a big agreement and SportPesa were also sponsoring a Premier League club for the first time. It has been a learning experience and now we look forward for a better working arrangement.”

Yanga who are taking part in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League have also been approached by other potential sponsors who are not in conflict with the main sponsor.

The Jangwani-based side signed a five-year deal in 2017 worth Tsh 5billion over the same period. It expired in June 2021.
