Yanga Striker Mayele Not Completed Kaizer Chiefs Move

Yanga Sports Club striker Fiston Kalala Mayele has not completed a move to South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Ducor Sports revealed on Thursday that the Citizens had agreed to sell the player to Amakhosi, and a move was imminent.

However, Mayele’s departure during the summer transfer window would not be a surprise, given that he has frequently been linked with a move away from Jangwani.

Chiefs have reiterated that they will continue with their efforts to sign Mayele but their transfer conduct regarding to the DR Congo striker will remain ethical.

“We don’t try like many clubs do go around and try to influence players to behave in a certain way we go direct to the club in the correct manner and we are going to try that until the last day of the transfer window,” a source at Chiefs disclosed.

The Amakhosi have seen their initial bid of around $ 210,000 in order to hold out for a bigger fee in exchange for Mayele’s signature.

Yanga are believed to have slapped a high price tag on their prized asset and will not be bullied into letting him go for a reduced sum over the coming weeks and months.

Orlando Pirates are also said to be keeping tabs on Mayele’s situation and have been tipped to join the bidding for his signature in the not-too-distant future.

It remains to be seen whether Kaizer Chiefs will ultimately be able to snap him up at the expense of the Buccaneers , who will have plenty of funds to spend on new players this summer due to their increased budget.

Mayele has scored 19 times in 35 appearances across all competitions for Yanga last season. He has admitted that he was still keen on the move but due process has to be followed.
