Zamalek Learn African Champions League Group Stage Opponents

Egyptian Premier League champions Zamalek SC have learned their 2022/2023 African Champions League opponents.

The group stage draw was conducted in the Egyptian capital, Cairo on Monday afternoon and split the qualifiers into four groups with each club facing their rivals home and away.

Zamalek will be against four-time African champions Esperance de Tunis, Algeria’s CR Belouizdad and Al Merreikh of Sudan.

The White Knights qualified for the group stages of the most prestigious club competition in African football after a 6-1 aggerate win over Flambeau du Centre of Burundi.

Meanwhile, the other Egyptian team Al Ahly has also discovered their CAF Champions League opponents.

The Red Eagles, who are the most successful club in the competition, will face off against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, Sudan’s Al Hilal ad Coton Sport of Cameroon.

Defending champions Wydad are in Group A alongside Angola’s Petro de Luanda, Algeria’s JS Kabylie and AS Vita of Democratic Republic of Congo.
