Zamalek President Mortada Monsour Receives Another Ban

Zamalek President Mortada Mansour has been banned for two years for using “heavily insulting” language towards Egyptian Olympic Committee chairman.

Zamalek President Mortada Mansour has been banned for two years for using “heavily insulting” language towards Egyptian Olympic Committee (EOC) chairman Hisham Hattab Roberto.

This comes few weeks after the lawyer-cum-politician was banned from all football-related activities by Confederation of African Football (CAF) after he verbally attacked the organization’s officials.

He was also banned by the Africa Handball Federation for a period of one year.

According to the Egyptian Olympic Committee, the action was taken in an emergency general assembly whereby its members agreed in unison to take Mansour’s matter to Center for Sports Settlements and Arbitrations asking for his dethronement.

Already, the committee has communicated to Zamalek that they will not be allowed to take any point home in all Olympic and non-Olympics activates if Monsour will be present.

However, EOC has pointed that soon they will be sending a letter to Egypt President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi asking him to open the mediation process between the warring parties.

Mansour has for years been a thorn in the side of Egypt’s sports scene, with his use of profanities a feature of his TV appearances.

He is serving a media ban from Supreme Council for Media Regulation, meaning all visual, audio, prints and electronic media platforms are not supposed to cover his activities.
