Zambia national team head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has summoned 40 local based players ahead of friendly matches against Malawi, South Africa and Kenya.

The squad will hold its first training on Sunday, September 28 as the team starts to get ready for a back-to-back 2021 AFCON qualifier against Botswana.

Micho has decided to select a mixture of youthful and experienced players in a bold squad that will give him an opportunity to refresh the squad when need be.

The Serbian coach also has an eye on the Cameroon 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) that will be played in January 2021.

After the Malawi friendly, which will be played at Nkoloma Stadium on October 7, Micho is expected to trim the squad to create room for foreign-based players for the South Africa friendly.

Zambia will play South Africa on October 13 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg before testing Kenya in Nairobi.
