Zambia national team, Chipolopolo is scheduled to play two international friendly matches in October this year, the country federation has announced.

Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic men will play the South Africa national team on October 11 at FNB Stadium before facing Kenya two days later in Nairobi.

Both matches will be played behind closed doors as preparation for their double-header 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana in November.

“We are happy to have secured the two friendlies as part of our build-up matches ahead of our 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Botswana,” said Micho.

The two matches will mark the first competitive outing for Chipolopolo who have not been in action since their home loss to Zimbabwe in their Nations Cup qualifier back in November 2019.

Chipolopolo are on the bottom of the pool with zero points while the Zebras are in third with a point.

Algeria lead the group with six points, two ahead of Zimbabwe who are in the second place.

Zambia last participated in this continental showpiece in 2015, where they were eliminated in the group stages.
