Zambia Super League giants Zanaco have sealed the return of Chisamba Lungu on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old midfielder was a Zanaco player in 2008 and rejoins the club as a free agent after leaving Nkana FC.
Lungu was set to join the club in January but backed out from the move at the final stages of negotiation without giving an explanation.
The Bankers have now announced the former Chipolopolo star that left Nkana after expressing his unhappiness about a lack of game-time which led to him not attending club activities.
“Lungu, a member of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winning squad, has joined the bankers on a two-year contract which will keep him at Sunset until 2022,” reads part of the statement on the club website.

Zanaco’s general manager Marlon Kananda assured the fans that Chisamba is a valuable signing for the club.
“Lungu is an experienced player and his coming will motivate the young players. There will be more competition among the players which is what we want,” Kananda said.
“Lungu is an exciting player to watch and I am confident that he will add value to the team and deliver.”
The Kafue-born midfielder is expected to add depth in Zanaco’s rank ahead of what promises to be a rough ride as they prepare for the return of domestic league where they will be fighting for a chance in CAF competitions.
The 40-time capped Chipolopolo striker who plied his trade in the Russian Premier League between 2010 and 2017 has also played in Georgia and Turkey.
