Zimbabwean Coach Reportedly Turns Down Offer To Coach AFC Leopards

Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Calisto Pasuwa has turned down the opportunity to spearhead Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards, according to sources.

Nyasa Big Bullets head coach Calisto Pasuwa has turned down the opportunity to spearhead Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards, according to sources.

The 49-year-old manager was reported to have held discussions with Leopards Dan Shikanda via Skype last week. They reportedly discussed terms but Pasuwa turned down the chance, preferring to stay at Malawian outfit.

Pasuwa’s future at Bullets has been in question recently, as there have been reports about the former Dynamos coach being in the running for the Technical Directors post at Football Association of Malawi.

Having recently signed a one-year extension with Bullets, Pasuwa’s decision to turn down the offer comes as a slight sigh of relief to the Nyasa outfit faithful.

Apart from snubbing AFC Leopards, the veteran gaffer has also turned down a number of offers including Tanzanian giants Simba SC.

Pasuwa joined Bullets toward the end of 2018 season and despite having not having experienced players in the team, the Zimbabwean coach retained the title.

Pasuwa has build quite an impressive profile for himself as guided former side Dynamos to two league titles and then taking the Warriors to their first Africa Cup of Nations finals appearance in more than a decade.

His exploits have previously attracted the attention of the Malawi Football Association leadership, who wanted him to take over as their country’s national team coach, but negotiations between the two parties failed to end in a deal.
